b.fab develops disruptive bioproduction technology. We combine electrochemistry with biotechnology using the most efficient technologies. In the first process step, we produce formic acid from CO 2, water and renewable electricity. In the second process step, we use the liquid starting material formic acid as a substrate in our bioprocess with formatotrophic strains. Synthetic biology is used to design synthetic pathways and channel formic acid into the desired bioproduct.
